I was formally educated as an architect, but I am a self taught painter. My painting process is reactionary-whether that be a reaction to a free-form line, a rigid architectural pencil line, a form, a color or a texture.
Large swatches of paint, forms taped off to be revealed, or even manically precise lines ultimately all come together at the end to achieve a harmonious composition.
I have recently divulged into landscape paintings as a more zen like approach to artwork, as sometimes to above described approach became too stressful. It is my desire though, that as disparate as the artwork is, that a viewer could one day notice that they were done by the same artist.
The ultimate goal doesn’t fall under any social or artistic commentary umbrella, but rather the sole desire to achieve a harmonious composition.
